About this Resource
Photo essay is a text form that students will be exploring in ELAL 5. This resource provides some key features of a photo essay, several links to photo essays for your students to explore, and questions they can consider either in conversation or as part of a reader response after reading the text.
Crafting this text form requires knowledge of photography and composition. It may be best thought of as text that we read/explore with students rather than one we ask students to attempt to produce. As always, please review the photo essays before sharing them with students to ensure the content is appropriate for your context.
