About this Resource
This is a one stop shop for anyone teaching a combined Grades 4-5 class! Two documents in included – a teacher outline and a student portfolio. Students will explore how waste, particularly hazardous materials, is managed, and understand the environmental impacts. They will also investigate how the particle model of matter explains the physical properties of solids, liquids, and gases involved in waste management. Activities linked include ECSD Curriculum crates, slides, explore learning gizmo, slides, hands on lab activities, games, and a project structure that is woven throughout.
