About this Resource
Students take on the role of scientists working for a fictional space agency that has discovered a new substance on an alien planet. Their mission is to first learn all about the particle model of matter and how different physical properties change depending on the matter. Then students will investigate and classify this mystery matter by conducting experiments to determine whether it behaves like a solid, liquid, or gas, using the particle model of matter as a guide.
