About this Resource
In this session, we will look at what we might focus on for November and December. The theme for this session is to make math and the strategies visible to the students to support their learning and thinking. Specifically, we move forward with 5N1 and the work in place value going to the thousandths position, comparing and ordering (tied into activities in the CPAR document) as well as addition and subtraction of numbers with the standard algorithm and estimation. We look at divisibility rules but focus more on 2, 5, 10 rules to assist those students who are having difficulties with their math facts which impact their multiplication and division of larger numbers. We review symmetry 5G1.1/1.2 and Numerical Algebraic Expressions 5A1.1. This session was recorded on October 24, 2023.
