ELA App List
- Shakespeare This FREE app includes the complete works of Shakespeare. Apple | Android
- Libby This free app provides free access to audiobooks, ebooks and magazines from your local library.
- Open Culture While the app no longer exists, their website still provides access to many free ebooks and audiobooks.
- SimpleMind This app is an easy to use mind mapping tool. Pre-writing has never been so easy or so much fun.
- Dictionary.com This app includes a link to a thesaurus and audio enunciations of the word.
- Vocabulary.com This app allows users to build vocabulary.
- Audiobooks This provides links to many free audiobooks. It may be worth upgrading from the lite edition as it requires an Internet connection to work. Apple | Android
- Strip Designer This app allows students to use their photographs to create comic strips complete with captions, image filters and templates. It is available for $4.99.
- Letter Soup Touch and rearrange the scrambled letters to find the scrambled word.
Math App List
- Number Line This free app is an educational game where students must explore fractions, decimals and percents by placing their order on a number line. They must be matched with equivalent fractions, decimals and percents. There are many levels and increasing complexity.
- Assembly Line This free app reinforces number sets. The game allows for multiple ways to solve puzzles.

- Brain Tutor Free 3D exploration of the human brain
- Molecules 3D models of molecules that can be rotated and explored. Additional molecules can be downloaded.
- Tree ID TreeID allows the user to identify almost any tree in Northern America based upon its name, scientific name, bark, leaf, fruit or location. Because many of us using the app may not know the proper name for identifying particular types of leaves or fruit, the app will walk the user through the various methods of tree identification. Suitable for grade six science.
- Falstad Circuit Simulator Create and test electric circuits!

- Yoga | Down Dog Improve strength, balance, posture and flexibility. Good for students who need low impact.
- First Aid App Never too early to learn CPR.
- Google Fit and ActivityTracker are simple pedometer app’s students may find useful for both fitness and a math measurement unit.
- Physical Exercise and Brain Health Sharpbrains is an active site that provides great information about brain fitness.
