Wondering what hybrid texts are and just what you might do with them? This resource is for you. Watch the video for a walk-through of how you could introduce this text structure to your students. Students are invited to examine sample texts and develop a list of characteristics of this text form. Students then use the criteria to develop their own hybrid texts.
While it is not required for students to both read and write hybrid texts in the curriculum, pairing text forms in this way helps develop deeper understanding of the structure and why an author might choose to use in when creating their own texts.
